MUE 4900. Serving Students with Special Needs in the Music Classroom. 3 Hours.
Prerequisite: MUE 3000. An introduction to the major issues in the field of special education as it relates to the music classroom. Emphasis is placed on understanding the characteristics and etiologies of individuals with diverse needs and on identifying the qualities of home, school, and community environments that support these individuals in achieving their musical potential.
